Many pregnant women hear birth stories every day. There is something about a pregnant belly that screams, "Tell me your birth story!" The problem is that the stories we hear are often scary and dramatic. This can increase anxiety and fear about the normal birthing process.
These birth story podcasts are designed to help restore faith in the body's natural ability to labor and give birth. You will hear women discussing what their birth was like both physically and mentally. They will share what helped them get through one of the toughest and most fulfilling experiences in their lives.

By submitting your story, you agree to the following:
- Lamaze International has permission to post your podcast on the Lamaze Web site and/or use your birth story in other Lamaze International print or electronic materials.
- Your birth story supports the Lamaze Philosophy of Birth.
- Your story should be in your own words and voice.
- Try to keep the Six Care Practices that Support Normal Birth in mind as you share your story.
- Do not use full names or provide slanderous or libelous information.
Tips for creating a great birth story podcast:
- Have some of your thoughts and main points written down in advance.
- Practice telling the story, if that gives you a sense of comfort.
- Act like you are telling your story to a friend, or actually have them sit silently with you while you tell the story.
- Be in a quiet room with no background noise.
- If you are using a phone, be sure to use a land line and not a speakerphone or cell phone for the best sound quality.
- Send in a photo, if you wish.
- You will be indentified by first name only.
